As a coach, your clients come to you because they’re seeking guidance and support to help them achieve their goals. They’re looking for someone who can inspire and motivate them, someone who can provide a safe space for them to explore their feelings and experiences.

But here’s the thing – if you’re afraid to show up on video and connect with your clients in a more personal way, you’re missing out on a powerful opportunity to build trust and establish a deeper connection with them.

I know it’s scary. The thought of putting yourself out there, of being vulnerable and open to criticism, can be overwhelming. It’s easy to worry about what people will think of you, to imagine all the ways that you might embarrass yourself or make a mistake.

But the truth is, worrying about what other people think is holding you back. It’s preventing you from showing up as your authentic self, from sharing your unique perspective and insights, and from truly connecting with your clients.

Think about it. When you’re scrolling through social media, what catches your eye? Is it the polished, professionally produced videos, or is it the candid, off-the-cuff moments where someone is just being themselves?

Chances are, it’s the latter. People want to see the real you, flaws and all. They want to know that you’re human, that you’ve struggled with the same things they have, and that you’ve come out the other side with wisdom and insights to share.

And when you show up on video, you’re able to convey all of that in a way that just isn’t possible through written content alone. You can use your tone of voice, your body language, and your facial expressions to communicate so much more than words ever could.

Plus, when you’re on video, you’re able to establish a deeper connection with your clients. They can see you, hear you, and get a sense of who you are as a person. And when they feel like they know you, like they’ve had a chance to connect with you on a deeper level, they’re more likely to trust you and want to work with you.

But here’s the thing – showing up on video doesn’t mean you have to be perfect. In fact, it’s often the imperfections that make you more relatable and approachable. If you stumble over your words, or forget what you were going to say, or make a silly face – that’s okay! It’s what makes you human.

So, how do you get over the fear of showing up on video and start connecting with your clients in a more meaningful way? Here are a few tips:

  1. Practice, practice, practice. The more you do it, the more comfortable you’ll become.
  2. Remember that your clients want to hear from you. They’re coming to you for guidance and support, and they want to know that you’re there for them.
  3. Be yourself. Don’t try to be someone you’re not, or present a polished, perfect image. Your clients want to see the real you.
  4. Finally, remember that you’re doing this for a reason – to connect with your clients and help them achieve their goals. When you keep that in mind, it can be easier to push through the fear and show up on video.

So, what are you waiting for? It’s time to stop worrying about what people think, and start showing up on video in a way that connects with your clients and helps you grow your coaching business. You’ve got this!
